In truth, there was just one newsworthy announcement the new Apple Fanboy Bobblehead pictured to the left!

The first is that Apple is throwing its hat into the social networking ring with an upgrade to its iTunes software. By outfitting iTunes with a slew of social features — like creating a top-ten list of what your friends are listening to — Apple is looking to make iTunes more than just a place where you purchase your music. They want it to be a place where you share and discover music.

The second interesting announcement was an update to Apple TV. The box, which connects your TV to iTunes and the Internet, has been around since 2006. But it's never quite taken off. Apple has priced the new, much smaller version aggressively at $99 and, by allowing access to Netflix, is hoping that it can compete with the other options out there like the Roku box and the many DVD players that are also streaming from the Web.

Jobs also said that Fox and ABC have agreed to rent episodes of their shows for 99 cents, offering an alternative to the purchase model that was previously the norm for TV shows sold through Apple's iTunes store.
